What a great weekend to be in Wigan. A beer festival at Wigan Central with 30 cask beers, 25 keg beers and 15 ciders. A tap takeover by Wily Fox at the Cherry Gardens. A new bar opening with 3 cask handpulls - Gin Lane at 53 Wigan Lane opens to the public at 2pm on Saturday.

Very sad news if this happens. Quality beers.

For those on today's social trip by train to Hebden Bridge, to save money get a 'split' ticket - Wigan to Rochdale return and Rochdale to Hebden Bridge return. Should cost £6.50 and £5.60 respectively, £4.30 and £3.70 with a railcard. Catch the 10.57 from Wigan Wallgate.
