Brewing for bottling at present but planning to brew some 9% abv stout to go into pins shortly. A special beer is to be brewed using ingredients from the Windy Arbour farm shop.

Stuart is to look into ways the brewery can support local bottle shops.

No real new news apart from things are running smoothly both at the brewery and the Tap ‘n’ Barrel. Paul is very keen to get involved with Wigan Beer Week and did have a couple of really excellent ideas so watch this space!

Brewing Rainbow Mayflower Beer, 4% abv, with donations to Pride charities.

A beer festival is to be held around the end of August and possibly a food related event for Wigan Beer Week.

Despite the change of ownership, it’s ‘business as usual’ according to Roy!

Business at the brewery continues to thrive. Beer swaps are continuing to help take Wigan Brewhouse beer further afield.

A new beer called “Galaxy” has been launched for August and will be available for sale mid-month, the beer is a 3.9 ABV golden ale produced using Galaxy hops, this beer will appeal to drinkers who enjoy a hoppy beer. It is also planned to produce a brew of the month for September – details to follow.

The designs of the breweries pump clips are being reviewed, this is to place a greater emphasis on the brand name.

Wigan Brewhouse have agreed to collaborate with the Wigan Home Brewers group who meet at Wigan Central on a monthly basis. It is hoped that the input from the brewery will support the group’s aims to brew different beers and offer expert support.

Wigan Brewhouse is continuing to explore the canning of their beers.
Head brewer, Jonathan, met with local home brewers last Wednesday in intends to brew a collaborative beer with them for Wigan Beer Week.

We are pleased to say that we are now a SALSA accredited Brewery, after months of hard work we now have the certificate!! (Safe and local supplier).

Other great news is that we started supply to Albert’s of Standish, we have four of our keg beers on the bar (Dublin Up, The Fox Hat, Prohibition APA Karma Citra) and feedback has been extremely positive.

Our Keg range is selling well, especially Uberlegen, Craft Pilsner Lager and Karma Citra.

Dark Flagon is back by popular demand, we are feeling so much love for this lovely Rum Porter that we’ve had to brew again! It is available right now.

New beers this week are Third Star and Warrior IPA, both now available.
Wily Fox beers are no long available at the DW Stadium due to the bars being operated by Heineken – the have been replaced by Bowland beers on the bars.
